Maury Released Mugshot Records

A mugshot is the photograph created during a booking process. T.C.A. § 8-4-115 supports that Tennessee's standardized adult booking process includes an arrestee photograph. That does not require a sheriff to post the image on the web. It also does not override a public-record exception, a valid redaction, an expungement order, or the special confidentiality rules that apply to juvenile records.

Maury County's official site does not provide a public roster, released-person photo feed, or mobile inmate app confirmed by the Sheriff. An adult booking process may still create an image. The records custodian can determine whether that named existing photograph is open under the Tennessee Public Records Act. Ask for nonexempt portions rather than claiming the entire booking file must be released.

Release does not change what the image proves. It shows that a photo was associated with a booking event. It does not establish conviction, the final charge, a completed release, or present custody. Use the jail release entry for the custody transaction and the court judgment for the legal disposition.

Where Maury Released Mugshots Appear

The available channels do not all carry the same photograph. A county intake image belongs to the Maury County Sheriff's booking record. A TDOC offender photo is part of a state felony record and may be a different image. VINELink focuses on custody status and notification; Tennessee instructions do not promise a photo. News photos provide context but do not prove release.

A third-party image may be copied, relabeled, or detached from later case events. No commercial mugshot publisher or removal vendor should be treated as an official Maury source. If the aim is to identify the actual county booking photograph, use the booking number and request the Sheriff's image tied to that event.

Note: A photo appearing or disappearing online cannot establish whether a person remains in custody, was released, or transferred elsewhere.

No Maury Mugshot Feed

The Sheriff site's “Inmate Information” link leads to a general Corrections page. It does not open a person search, recent-release list, or photo tab. The official sitemap likewise exposes Corrections, mail, property, visitation, tours, and phone service, but no inmate lookup. As of August 1, 2026, there was no verified official release-photo window, update schedule, retention term, or field list.

No official Maury Sheriff mobile inmate or release app was verified either. MobilePatrol is a generic product, but the research found no reliable official source showing Maury participation or photo coverage. MyTN provides access to TDOC FOIL for qualifying felony offenders. It is not a county jail roster and cannot replace the Maury booking record.

The absence of a photo feed is a limit of public web access. It does not prove that no adult booking image exists. It also means a commercial page claiming “official” or “real-time” Maury mugshots should not be promoted as county data. Confirm each name, booking event, and image with the agency record.

Request a Maury Booking Photo

Use Maury County's 2024 Public Records Request Form and direct the request to the Sheriff's records custodian. The form covers existing open records. It does not require the county to compile or create a new record. It asks for Tennessee citizenship and photo identification, the inspection or copy choice, delivery method, contact information, and enough detail to identify the requested material.

1. Identify the adult by full name and give the approximate booking date. Add date of birth or booking number when needed to prevent a same-name error.
2. Ask for “the adult booking photograph associated with booking number [number]” and name the Maury County Jail booking.
3. Request the release entry separately if the date, type, authority, destination, or detainer fields are also needed.
4. Select inspection or a copy and state a preferred delivery method. Ask for a cost estimate before charges exceed a set amount.
5. If part is withheld, request the reasonably segregable nonexempt portion and the statutory basis for each redaction.

The newer form should control the current process. An older Sheriff-specific form published weekday inspection from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 15 cents per black-and-white page, 50 cents per color page, postage, and research charges after the first hour. It described a seven-business-day point for production, denial, or an explanation that more time was needed. These are older published terms. Confirm current rates before relying on them.

Release verification is a separate request. The Maury County released inmate search covers the booking number, release date and time, authority, destination, and detainer fields that a photo cannot establish.

Maury Mugshot Access Limits

T.C.A. § 10-7-503 establishes a Tennessee-citizen right to inspect open public records during business hours, subject to exceptions. Section 10-7-506 governs copies and charges. A custodian may verify citizenship, apply an exemption, redact protected material, and charge under an adopted policy. Inspection rights, receipt of a copy, online publication, and unrestricted reuse are different legal questions.

Juvenile photographs and records receive restrictions under T.C.A. § 37-1-155 and related confidentiality rules. Sealed or expunged material may also be unavailable. Protected identifying, investigative, security, medical, or victim information can be withheld or redacted when the law permits. Asking for nonexempt portions preserves a workable request when part of the file cannot be released.

The research did not verify an enacted Tennessee statewide anti-pay-to-remove law or a special mugshot-publication statute. Bills and laws from other states are not Tennessee law. The narrower supported finding is that an existing adult booking photograph may be requested under TPRA, subject to exceptions, while Maury County does not publish an official photo roster.

Public-record and FCRA limit: This privately operated site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Mugshot data may not be used for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose. Verify the image and its case context with the originating government office.

Maury Jail Gallery Is Different

Maury County maintains an official “Maury County Jail” gallery, but it is not a mugshot archive. The county jail gallery displays the booking area, holding cell, pods, kitchen, laundry, clinic, and other facility rooms. Those photos document the building. They do not identify booked or released people.

This distinction prevents a common source error. A county page with “photo gallery” in its label may look relevant to a mugshot search, yet the subject is the jail itself. Do not use a room image as evidence that the Sheriff publishes booking portraits. The correct official fallback remains a named booking-photo request.

Maury Mugshots Beyond County Records

TDOC FOIL may display an offender photo for a person who entered a qualifying Tennessee felony record. FOIL also provides status, assigned location, offense, sentence, parole-hearing, and release information. Its image is a TDOC offender photo. It should not be described as the Maury County Jail intake image unless the official records establish that link.

Local news and official agency press releases may preserve a photograph from a noteworthy arrest. Such an item is a dated publication, not a live custody record. Read its publication date and description. Then use the court docket and Sheriff's release entry for later events. A news archive may never reflect an amended charge, dismissal, or completed release.

Commercial and third-party pages can also retain copies. They may lag, combine identities, omit changes, or call old data current. They are a category to recognize, not a source to endorse. Do not pay a removal service based on a claim that it controls an official county record.

Maury Expungement and Mugshots

Tennessee expungement under T.C.A. § 40-32-101 is category-specific. A dismissal or conviction does not automatically qualify. The current law and court guidance determine eligibility, waiting rules, required completion, and effect. Maury County provides a local criminal-record expungement order form through its Circuit Court resources.

The Tennessee courts explain that, after local completion, an expungement order is sent to agencies that may include the arresting agency, county jail, TDOC, TBI, and FBI. An expunged public case or image may then disappear from official lookup. That absence is not proof of a past release. It reflects a change in public availability under legal process.

The local form supplements statewide guidance, but it does not promise that each case qualifies or that every independent copy will vanish. Ask the agency that controls an official image how it applies a completed order. For case-specific help, use current court instructions or a qualified legal resource. Avoid any promise that payment to a private service can erase all copies.

Note: Match the image to a booking number and case before drawing any conclusion, since an expungement can change what remains publicly visible.
