Mount Pleasant Police is an arresting authority, not a verified separate public jail system. A person may be held briefly during police processing, released under proper authority, or transported into Maury County booking. The agency should be contacted when that first destination is unclear. Once the county jail accepts custody, the Sheriff's records answer later jail release questions.

Keep the events separate. Police release from a brief hold may occur without a county booking. Transfer from police to Maury County Jail means confinement continues. A later Sheriff's release entry may show bond, court order, time served, sentence expiration, or a move to another custodian. The word “release” must always be paired with the agency whose custody ended.
