Find Maury County Released Inmates

Maury County released inmates are not shown in a public county release feed after they leave local custody. A careful Maury County released inmate search starts with the last custodian, then follows the record into the county court, state correction, supervision, or federal system that applies. To search for Maury County released inmates, first distinguish a true return to the community from a transfer. The release entry, court disposition, and any later custody record must agree before a missing jail result is treated as proof of release.

Maury County Release Records Explained

A release is a custody event. It means that Maury County Jail has closed its hold under a stated authority, but the next destination controls whether the person is free in the community. Bond, a court order, time served, sentence expiration, probation, or parole can lead to community placement. A TDOC transfer, extradition, federal pickup, or immigration detainer ends Maury custody while confinement continues elsewhere.

The best local proof is the Sheriff's existing booking and release record. It may be called a jail card, inmate history, booking sheet, custody record, or release entry. The court file supplies the legal basis and final disposition. Tennessee SAVIN can report a custody change, while TDOC FOIL applies when a felony sentence, state transfer, parole, or state probation is involved. No single screen answers every case.

Release
The end of one agency's custody under a stated reason or authority.
Transfer
A move to another custodian, not a return to the community.
Discharge
Completion or termination of a sentence or supervision term, as shown by the responsible agency.
Time served
A court finding that credited custody satisfies all or part of a custodial term.

Ways Maury County Custody Ends

Read the release type together with the destination and case record. A bond release does not dismiss the charge. A parole grant is not the physical release time. Even a time-served entry may sit beside another open case, probation term, or hold. The wording used by the Sheriff should be preserved when the record is described.

“Bond set,” “bond posted,” and “released” describe different steps. Paperwork, identity review, outstanding holds, and transfer acceptance can separate those events. Only the completed release entry records the Sheriff's custody transaction.

How Maury County Bond Release Works

The Maury County Magistrates Office is in the jail building. Magistrates conduct initial arraignments shortly after arrest and set bond. Booking at 931-375-8661 can say whether bond has been set, while a bonding agent explains the process. The presiding judge controls later changes to the terms.

This local setup helps confirm the step that may lead to release. It still does not turn bond into a case outcome. The court docket may later show changed conditions, revocation, dismissal, or final judgment. Ask the jail for the release entry when the exact departure time matters.

Note: A bond amount or order is not proof that Maury County Jail completed the person's physical release.

Maury County Release Record Fields

A narrow request should identify the booking and ask for the maintained fields that show how it ended. Not every field is stored in one database, and exempt details may be redacted. Request the reasonably segregable, nonexempt parts rather than demanding a newly written certificate.

FieldWhat it establishes
Name, aliases, date of birthIdentity matching; date of birth may not be publicly displayed
Booking number and timeThe specific Maury County Jail intake event
Arresting agency, charges, case numberThe arrest and court links, not necessarily final charges
BondType and amount recorded for that booking
Release date and timeWhen the county custody transaction closed
Release authority and typeWhy the jail acted
Destination or receiving agencyCommunity release versus a custodial handoff
Holds or detainersWhether another authority may continue custody
Booking photographThe image associated with intake, if maintained and releasable

Match the booking number to the court case whenever possible. A same-name docket can belong to another person. Dates should also form a sound order: arrest, booking, court action, then release or transfer. A conflict should be taken back to the record custodian.

Request Maury County Release Proof

Use the 2024 Maury County public-records form for an existing booking and release entry. The form asks for Tennessee citizenship and identification, the desired access method, delivery choice, contact details, and a precise description. Inspection is the lower-cost route when practical.

  1. Identify the person with a full name, approximate booking date, and booking number or date of birth if needed.
  2. Ask for the existing jail card, booking sheet, release screen, or custody entry rather than a custom list.
  3. Name the desired fields, including release time, authority, destination, and holds.
  4. Choose inspection or copies and ask for a current cost estimate before charges pass a stated limit.
  5. Ask for nonexempt portions and the legal basis for any redaction.

The older Sheriff form lists weekday inspection from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 15 cents for black-and-white pages, 50 cents for color, postage, and research charges after the first hour. It also describes a seven-business-day point to produce, deny, or explain more time. Because the 2024 form is newer, confirm all current rates and timing before relying on those older terms.

Tennessee Law on Maury Release Records

T.C.A. § 10-7-503 gives Tennessee citizens a right to inspect open public records during business hours, subject to exceptions. Section 10-7-506 addresses copies and charges. Access to inspect, a paid copy, web publication, and later reuse are separate matters. The custodian may verify citizenship, redact protected content, and apply the county's adopted fee policy.

No Maury-specific retention period for jail release records was verified. Online visibility would not define record retention even if a roster existed. Ask which retention authorization applies and whether an older jail record moved to another system. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, investigative, medical, security, victim, and protected identifying information can have special limits.

Record scope: Request existing nonexempt fields. Tennessee public-records law does not require the Sheriff to compile a new release report.

Expunged Maury County Release Records

Maury County publishes a local criminal-record expungement order form. Eligibility is category-specific under T.C.A. § 40-32-101. A dismissal or old conviction should never be described as automatically eligible without checking the current law and court guidance.

After a qualifying order is completed, public entries may disappear from agency and court lookup. That absence cannot prove when release occurred. Independent copies may also persist even after official access changes. The durable approach is to confirm the legal order with the clerk and respect the present limits on the official record.

Find Released Maury County Inmates

Start with the last known custodian. Maury County provides no official person-level roster or recent-release feed, so an empty web search is especially weak. Use identifiers beyond a name and keep following the custody chain until an agency records community release.

  1. Call Booking at 931-375-8661 or Corrections at 931-380-5733 and ask about current custody, release, or the receiving agency.
  2. Search Tennessee SAVIN/VINELink by exact name or offender number and read the reporting agency and status together.
  3. Use TDOC FOIL when a felony sentence, state transfer, parole, or state probation is possible.
  4. Search the Maury court docket for bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation, or revocation.
  5. Check BOP, ICE, or the federal docket when a federal handoff may have followed the county event.
  6. Request the Sheriff's release entry for documentary proof and use the TDOC archive for older state custody.
Off the roster does not mean free. Release, transfer, extradition, a name mismatch, delayed posting, or a system issue can all create a missing result.

A focused same-day view is available on the Released Last 24 Hours page, while the full route above is better for one named person.

No Maury County Release Feed

As of August 1, 2026, the official Sheriff site had no searchable roster, released tab, same-day list, three-day list, or inmate-photo feed. Its “Inmate Information” link reaches the general Corrections information page. The county sitemap also lists jail service pages but no person search.

The official Corrections view documents the facility and its contacts rather than a release list.

There is therefore no official release window, posting cadence, photo field, or web-retention rule to quote. Commercial claims of “real-time” Maury data are not county proof. Phone confirmation, SAVIN, the court, and a narrow records request form the reliable fallback.

Maury Release Records in Court

One Circuit Clerk maintains Circuit, General Sessions Parts I and II, and Juvenile records, but the divisions serve different matters. General Sessions handles criminal warrants and relevant traffic matters. Circuit handles indictments, transfers, and appeals. Several divisions moved on October 14, 2024, to the Justice Center at 1115 South Main Street in Columbia; Part II remains in Mount Pleasant.

At the Maury court search, start with the case number when known. Review each count, disposition, sentence, jail credit, suspended part, probation term, and later revocation. A docket shows court authority, while the jail entry shows the actual custody transaction. They answer related but different questions.

Maury County Release Supervision

Parole is a Board-authorized conditional release before a prison sentence ends. Probation is ordered by a court, sometimes instead of confinement or after a split sentence. TDOC community supervision manages both in the field. Search FOIL for the status and assigned location, then call the assigned office when a live fact is unclear.

District 51's Maury, Lewis, and Perry office is at 2506 Pillow Drive, Suites A and B, Columbia, with telephone 931-380-2575. No official statewide absconder list was found. A missing FOIL result may reflect an identity issue, an interstate case, an old entry, or misdemeanor supervision outside TDOC. More detail appears on the Parole / Probation page.

Help After Maury County Release

Maury County's 2025 opioid-abatement report documents local transition work inside the jail. The South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance R.E.A.C.H. program has provided evidence-based programming and trauma therapy since 2020, including counseling, navigation, and case management. Delta Recovery's Women's Jail Intensive Outpatient Program uses rolling cohorts and connects case management near release with continued care through Fresh Start.

These facts identify counseling and care-continuity paths, not a promise that every released person receives the same service. Availability and eligibility should be confirmed with the providers or jail staff. The programs also do not prove a release date or supervision status.

Maury Release Alerts and Transfers

Maury Sheriff calls the county-facing notification service Tennessee SAVIN and links VINELink. Search a person, open RECORD DETAILS, and use GET NOTIFIED when the record offers alerts. Text, email, TTY, and automated calls may be available. The service is a status and event channel, not a certified release sheet, and no local released-result retention promise was found.

For a federal path, the BOP locator covers sentenced federal custody and can display a released date. “Not in BOP Custody” may also mean BOP never held the person or another authority now does. ICE ODLS is mainly a current detainee locator, not a release archive. USMS has no comparable public historical locator, so a federal docket or clerk may be needed. A county entry naming ICE, USMS, TDOC, or another county is a transfer until that custodian confirms otherwise.

Maury County Release Property Questions

The official Inmate Property page describes what may be delivered during the first five days and gives north-side entrance hours. It does not state how stored property is handed back at release. No official source supplied an exit desk, pickup time, family waiting point, or transportation promise.

Call Corrections at 931-380-5733 for the current procedure. Do not rely on a generic jail rule or assume that a public entrance is the release point. This documented gap matters when a family member is planning a pickup.

Note: No official route from Mule Town Trolley to the jail or rideshare waiting rule on secure property was verified.

Where Maury Release Status Appears

The correct system follows the custodian. A county arrest without a state felony transfer stays in the Sheriff and court channels. A TDOC sentence moves the search to FOIL. Federal and immigration custody require separate federal tools.

A negative result narrows the question but rarely ends it. Wrong spelling, delayed data, a sealed case, a different county, or a different custodian can all explain an empty screen.

Maury County Custody Locations

Maury County Jail is the only documented local adult jail in the official sources reviewed. Its state-certified capacity is 386, and it uses computerized intake and booking. The Sheriff's Transport Unit moves prisoners to court, extradition, and other jurisdictions, so leaving the jail building may be continued custody.

None of the three police agencies was verified as a separate long-term public jail or release archive. A move from a police hold to Maury County Jail is intake into continued custody, not release.
